Ghanaian Musician, Black Sherif, graced the runway at the prestigious London Fashion Week on February 17, 2024, hosted at the iconic Tate Britain art museum in London.
Styled by Labrum, a prominent UK-based fashion designer, Black Sherif’s appearance showcased a fusion of contemporary fashion with rich West African cultural influences.
Labrum, renowned for its British African heritage, aims to illuminate the often overlooked narratives of West Africa, fostering greater understanding and appreciation between Western and West African cultures.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of London Fashion Week February, a testament to its enduring influence and significance in the global fashion scene. The event spans from Friday, February 16 to Tuesday, February 20, 2024, featuring a diverse array of designers and creatives from around the world.
Ekow Barnes, a Ghanaian fashion writer and creative producer who posted the picture of Black Sherif on the London Fashion runway said “watching Blacko dominate the runway is just pure joy. His artistry shines bright, not just an artist but a fashion icon, and he’s gonna nail it!”
Last year the musician revealed plans to enrol in a fashion school.
In a tweet, he announced that he is determined to go back to school to acquire skills in clothing design.
“Need to get this album out and go back to school to learn how to make clothes,” he wrote.
This is not the first time Black Sherif has been engaged in a fashion week. Last year, the musician modelled for renowned UK fashion brand, Ellesse and was also a model at the 2023 New York Fashion Week.
